Walking out

Out with the RACC alumni recently, shooting at the Southbank, we got talking to the skaters at Southern skate park. I had come prepared for action shots with my 18-35mm landscape lens! despite this, the opportunity to photo these guys was too good to miss. My photos are disappointing. I’m hoping  to read up on action photography and re shoot some images at some point. Any alumni out there up for this?

Similarly I messed up with my long exposure photos, forgetting to yank back down the ISO having been shooting in dark corners.

On 12th October at the Photographer’s gallery, the alumni club (RACC L3 class of 2017) were very lucky to be invited in to see the Magnum and LensCulture Photography Awards 2017  (https://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/magnum-lensculture-photography-awards). The guest speaker, before the finalists spoke, emphasised the need for the photographer to have a good pair of walking shoes!

This week I’ve been out with my Lee filters to redeem some long exposures. Yes, the weight of camera, lenses and tripod and accessories have meant it’s a been good workout and there have been some great cool crip sunny days!
